Quality Assurance and Quality Control

Our Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) services help ensure new projects meet stringent quality, safety and compliance measurements. The results: safer, more efficient operating environments and higher quality products and services.

Quality Assurance and Quality Control Services

QA/QC

Our Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) services are delivered by highly skilled, industry-certified professionals who are deeply experienced in mission critical operations. FST QA/QC teams analyze existing technologies, systems and processes to uncover opportunities for improvement. We have the capabilities to provide these services for the following disciplines: Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing and Structural.

Project Quality Plan (PQP)

We can develop or review your project-specific quality requirements to ensure your plan aligns your execution strategy with inspection and validation requirements. FST can tailor its inspection tracking software to provide real-time, value-added data reporting to your field team for performance measurement.

FST’s project team becomes fully versed in the project’s requirements before work begins. FST may also support your staff and trades by providing training, orientation materials and staff as needed.

Materials Receiving, Inspection and Audits

Our team ensures that construction materials are received, stored, handled as specified and documented to comply with validation and specification requirements.

Installation, Welding and Pipe Joining Inspections

FST verifies phases, from procedures and personnel through visual and remote inspection procedures, to the final acceptance and documentation process.

Ultra-High Purity Installation Procedures and Protocol

Ultra-High Purity (UHP) equipment is installed and tested according to manufacturer-recommended practices, and we certify UHP gas and liquid delivery system installations for safety and purity. FST may also commission gas systems in bulk processes, Ultrapure Water (UPW) and Deionized Water (DI) systems.

Testing, Cleaning and Passivation Verifications

Our Testing, Cleaning, and Passivation Verifications ensure that your equipment is free from contaminants and protected against corrosion. These services are essential for maintaining the integrity and performance of your critical systems.

Turnover Documentation Package (TOP)

Project completion results in a smooth handover to the operational staff. This includes a comprehensive turnover package of relevant documentation.

Commissioning

FST commissioning services cover every type of facility and installation, including mission critical operating environments, for both new and existing buildings. In collaboration with owners and contractors, we ensure that construction complies with regulations and supports rigorous industry and internal standards.

Mission Critical Commissioning

FST provides full lifecycle commissioning and consulting services to data centers and other mission critical facilities. Built upon a proven and iterative commissioning process, FST is committed to providing the utmost advocacy for our clients and assuring reliable operation of critical systems. FST’s commissioning process is designed to facilitate full system project success from design through warranty and after. We apply our extensive mission critical experience with our boots on the ground approach to customizing services for your project. Working with mission critical focused designers and general contractors (GCs) to meet the constantly changing operational needs of hyper-scale, co-location and enterprise clients, we are familiar with:

  • Current Airside Economization and Evaporative Cooling for Data Floors
  • Water Cooled Overhead and Underfloor Air Distribution Strategies Hot and Cold Aisles
  • Heat Recovery Strategies and Building Enclosure Commissioning
  • Medium Voltage Distribution Strategies with Generator Plants and Paralleling Gear
  • Engine Back Up Rotary Uninterruptible Power Supplies
  • Rack Level Electrical Distribution of Various Voltages

New Construction Commissioning

Commissioning for new construction is a systematic process that documents each phase: design, installation and occupancy. It includes a thorough review of the design documents, including the Owner’s Project Requirements (OPRs), followed by onsite presence during installation, functional testing of operating systems and training of the owner’s personnel.

Existing Building Commissioning

Over time, building performance degrades due to operational and occupancy changes. Existing building commissioning involves investigating, analyzing and optimizing building system performance through operational and maintenance improvement measures. Energy audits (Levels I, II and III) are included.

FST surveys and documents your building’s energy usage through a precise, hands-on and systematic process. We prepare a detailed energy profile for your heating, cooling, lighting and water usage systems, as well as other equipment that significantly affects energy consumption.

Building Enclosure Commissioning

We provide commissioning services for the complete building enclosure for moisture, air, vapor and thermal control layers. These services encompass the subgrade waterproofing at the building’s foundation, the exterior walls and the roof systems to form a complete building enclosure.

FST follows the National Institute of Building Science (NIBS) Guideline 3 in conjunction with ASTM E2813: Standard Practice for BECx.

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental) Certification Commissioning

We offer expert knowledge of up-to-date LEED qualifications and procedures to help you achieve project certification. Our team provides professional engineering services to fulfill LEED credits for Energy Atmosphere and Indoor Environmental Quality.
